TRIATHLON RESULTS

Thank you to the Volunteers, Lorrie, Sande, Vic, Benita, Alyssa, Sheila, Anna, John, Karlee, Brittany and Amelia.

We had cool weather and FAST contestants for our 1st Annual YMCA benefit Triathlon for the David R. Kinglsey Foundation.

The YMCA would like to Thank all the contestants and contributors to the Triathlon which was a great success. Little Brick Shirt House, OIT, Turn Thom Tire Factory, Anderson Printing, Pepsi and volunteers.

The competition started off bright and early at 7am on Saturday morning with a 500 yard swim. At a quick pace dripping wet, they ran. To their bikes parked outside the YMCA, outside temperature around 44 degrees. Down the Bike path to Patterson for the first of three hill climbs in their 10 mile bike route to OIT. For a 12 lap (3 mile) run around the track. Vic Versteeg, was set up with clock and runners finish line at OIT before the rest of us where half way through driving the route!

Little did we know that we had some outstanding athletes on our hands and we better move fast.

Winner of the men’s division, Todd Yee of Klamath completed the triathlon in One hour twelve minutes. Adrian Mateos, of Klamath came in at one hour sixteen minutes and right on their heels was Sarah Leblane of Klamath our winner of the women’s division at one hour twenty one minutes. The team division of Sandra Fugate; Dreama Hutchison and Malea Kuykendall took first place with one hour forty five minutes.

With the sweat of some gifted athletes, wonderful contributors and faithful volunteers the YMCA’s 1st annual benefit triathlon for the David R. Kingsley foundation raised $1000.00. Way to go everyone!
I hope to see all of you again next year for our 2nd annual benefit triathlon.
